We provide free cancer support and information in our centre and online. You can talk to professional staff, from cancer support specialists to psychologists and benefits advisors, or share experiences with others in a similar situation. We also have members of staff who come into the centre to provide sessions on yoga, relaxation and nutrition.  

The centre sits on the grounds of the Royal Free Hospital and can be found at the bottom end of Rowland Hill Street, less than a minute walk from the Rowland Hill Street entrance. It doesn’t matter where you are treated or your situation – just come in and talk to us, and we’ll guide you through the support that’s right for you.  

No appointment or referral is needed, and all our support is free.

Finding out you have cancer changes your life, and the weeks after diagnosis can be the most difficult and challenging. Maggie’s Royal Free is here from that moment to provide free cancer support and information from their centre and online. 

Maggie’s staff are extraordinary people. They are qualified professionals, usually with a background in the NHS. The team at Maggie’s Royal Free run a programme of support that includes: 

Help with money worries 

Maggie’s can tell a person what they are entitled to and help with things like parking permits and if they can claim extra money.   

Courses and workshops 

Maggie’s courses and workshops are designed to help people live well with cancer and tailor support that’s most suitable for for every individual. 

Support groups 

Maggie’s runs groups where people can meet others in a similar situation and get information about specific types of cancer. 

Friends and family 

Maggie’s can help people find ways to have difficult conversations, support coming to terms with changes in life or help people adapt to becoming a carer. 

The building 

Great architecture is vital to the care Maggie’s offers and their centres are designed to feel more like a home than a hospital. Maggie’s Royal Free was designed by renowned international architect Daniel Libeskind with gardens landscaped by Martha Schwartz Partners.

Split over three floors the centre features nine rooms including a kitchen, library, private benefits room, counselling room, a large multipurpose room for group and exercise sessions and a rooftop garden.
