As part of Operation Yewtree Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals NHS Trust was passed information relating to Jimmy Savile by the Department of Health regarding alleged activities in the 1980s which named Barnet General Hospital.

Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals NHS Trust investigated the information thoroughly and found no evidence of Jimmy Savile ever being involved in Barnet General Hospital or Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals NHS Trust at any time. From the investigation it was recognised that there was a need to strengthen systems and processes regarding volunteers and visitors to ensure patients and staff are not put at risk. This process was completed.
