The facilities team at the Royal Free Hospital were invited to a health and wellbeing event hosted by the charity For All Our Wellbeing on Friday 4 November.
During the day staff were invited to have their BMI measured and ride smoothie bikes to encourage healthy activity. Stalls on the day also included information on sexual health, the stop smoking services available at the trust, veganism and healthy eating, physiotherapy, the LGBT staff forum and financial planning. All staff were offered the flu jab upon arrival.
Jeremy Sharp, director of facilities, said: “We have such a huge workforce we rarely ever have the chance to get together as a team. A lot of our staff are also out around the hospital every day, so they have little access to computers which means they cannot see what is going on around the organisation.
“An event like this gives us the chance to offer these positive activities to a staff group who would usually find it hard to be involved. Over 100 people signed up and the stalls were busy throughout the event. It is important for our staff to get these opportunities, especially those who are away from a desk all day.”
