We are delighted to invite you to our next medicine for members event on Tuesday 28 February, 6pm to 7pm, where you will have the opportunity to hear from Royal Free London’s specialist diabetes clinicians and researchers from the UCL Institute of Immunity and Transplantation (IIT).
Approximately 400,000 people are currently living with type 1 diabetes in the UK and the number of new diagnoses is increasing by approximately four per cent each year.
This event will showcase the joint work of the diabetes specialist clinical teams and researchers to help develop a better understanding of the disease pathophysiology. We will also share details about a new national screening programme for children who may be at risk of developing type 1 diabetes in the future.
The line-up of speakers includes:
- Dr Miranda Rosenthal, diabetes consultant, Royal Free Hospital
- Professor Lucy Walker, chair in immune regulation, IIT
- Professor Parth Narendran, professor of diabetes medicine, Institute of Immunology and Immunotherapy
Our medicine for members’ events are hosted by our governors and focus on topics which are important to patients, staff and the local community. The evening will be streamed online using Microsoft Teams Live. Please click this link to join the meeting.
