A series of transport strikes are set to take place over the next couple of months. If the strikes go ahead they will cause severe disruption to London Underground services, Southern rail and Gatwick Express journeys. 

The planned TfL London underground strike is due to take place on:

  • Tuesday 6 December (from 7pm) and all day Wednesday 7 December – if this goes ahead, there will be no service on the Piccadilly line and reduced service on the Circle and Hammersmith & City line.

All other strikes, which will severely affect Southern rail and Gatwick Express journeys, are due to take place on:

  • Tuesday 6 December to Thursday 8 December (RMT conductors’ strike)
  • Tuesday 13 to Wednesday 14 December (ASLEF and RMT drivers’ strike)
  • Friday 16 December (ASLEF and RMT drivers’ strike)
  • Monday 19 December to Tuesday 20 December (RMT conductors’ strike)
  • Saturday 31 December 2016 to Monday 2 January 2017 (RMT conductors’ strike)
  • Monday 9 to Saturday 14 January 2017 (ASLEF and RMT drivers’ strike)

Patients and visitors are advised to visit both the TFL and Southern websites before they travel.
