Team London award winnersRoyal Free London volunteers, who are also UCL students, have won a Mayor of London ‘Team London Award’ for their volunteering work at the Royal Free Hospital.

The volunteers, who volunteer in children services on 6 north, the children’s outpatients clinic and within paediatric A&E, were recognised by Team London, the Mayor’s volunteering programme for London, for giving their time, skills and energy to improve the paediatric patient experience.

The volunteers visit the different areas of the hospital with a fun back pack containing play items such as crayons and bubbles.

Arya-Nousheh Moore, the organiser of the UCL play team said: "We are so happy to receive this award. It is wonderful to play and have fun with children and adolescents in hospital, knowing that you are helping to cheer them up and improve their experience.

"This project would not have been possible without the support of the fantastic play specialists and the voluntary services department at the Royal Free Hospital and UCL. It feels amazing that the hard work of our committee and that the dedication of our volunteers have been rewarded with this Team London Award - thank you!"
