Young people being treated at the RFL are being asked to get creative by drawing or painting something that made them smile during the time of COVID-19.

The Draw2020 competition will be judged by a star-studded panel, with Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter set to review the art after the 14 September deadline. They will be joined by group chief executive Caroline Clarke, paediatric consultant Victoria Dublon and paediatric matron Ade Adamolekun.

Victoria Dublon said: “we are very aware that it’s important to think about the wellbeing of young people during the ongoing challenge of COVID-19. We have put a whole package together to support this: those who come to paediatric A+E here, or to our children’s ward, will find a host of tools to promote their wellbeing. The competition is part of a plan to make a visit to the hospital a more positive experience for young people; we hope that it will make children and their families smile.”

The competition is being arranged by the Royal Free Hospital’s paediatric department and made possible thanks to the generous support of the Royal Free Charity, who have contributed Draw2020 art packs to allow children to enter the competition while staying in hospital.
